Idan Raichel Project
The Idan Raichel Project burst onto Israel’s music scene in 2002, changing the face of Israeli popular music and offering a message of love and tolerance that resonated strongly in a region of the world where headlines are too often dominated by conflict. With an enchanting blend of African, Latin American, Caribbean and Middle Eastern sounds coupled with sophisticated production techniques and a spectacular live show, the Idan Raichel Project has become one of the most unexpected success stories in Israeli music history.
Front of House engineer for the group, Val Gamarnik, became intimately familiar with Audix microphones during his tenure at BB Kings in New York City.
Val states, "Audix makes amazing mics ... and they became my goto mics when I worked at BB's. As I became more familiar with the products, I discoverd the hidden jewel of the line, the SCX25A. We use them for Idan's piano on stage and I always get compliments on the sound. During the recent tour we switched over to the VX5 for vocals and I basically use the DP-Elite8 for drums. We are in the process of re-vamping our stage with Audix!"
