In 1997, Bob Bloom received certification as a "Master Teaching Artist" by The Connecticut Office of the Arts.
His arts-integration, interactive drumming programs are presented for students in grades pre-kindergarten
From 2007 to 2010, Bob sat as chair of the Interactive Drumming Committee of
the Percussive Arts Society, the largest percussion organization in the world.
His professional development workshops on leadership skills for interactive drumming are presented by organizations and learning centers including:
National Association for Music Education; New England League of Middle Schools; American Music Therapy Association; Connecticut After School Network; Hartford Board of Education; Connecticut Office of the Arts; Neag School for Gifted Education and Talent Development; Percussive Arts Society; Hartt College of Music; University of Connecticut; Southern Connecticut State University.
Bob served for 18 years as a faculty assistant to Dr. Babatunde Olatunji for his "Language of the Drums" courses
at the Omega Institute. He performed as a member of Olatunji's internationally renowned troupe Drums of Passion at venues
including Lincoln Center, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Jorgenson Hall, and The Washington Monument.
